In support of Citizen Science Month, join NASA Education Outreach Specialist Josh Revels and the Ruth Ann Musick Library at Fairmont State University for a community Star Party! In addition to observing stars and the moon in the night sky through the use of telescopes, participants will learn about the NSF Globe at Night program, how to locate particular constellations, and will submit observational data about night sky brightness using Sky Quality Meters. In preparation for the Star Party, Revels will provide a telescope training for event coordinators, which will prepare participants to check out telescope kits from the Fairmont State University Library.
